Gratiot Democrats open campaign headquarters

The Gratiot County Democratic Party opened its 2018 campaign headquarters last Saturday at 408 Woodworth in Alma.

The office will be open 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday through June. New hours will be announced in July.

Four candidates were present for the opening: Terry Lyn Bernero – candidate for MSU trustee, Dennis Denno –  candidate for MSU trustee, John Hoppough – candidate for Michigan Senate 33rd District, Mark Bignell – candidate for Michigan Senate 33rd District.

Gratiot Democrats will hold meetings at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at the headquarters.

Gratiot County Democratic Party Chair Caroline Ross said Democrats will use the Alma office to serve as headquarters for candidates and to dispense information about Democratic candidates and ballot initiatives.

Party volunteers are needed to knock on doors, make phone calls and assist candidates and voters. To get involved, you can sign up at the office, at the monthly meeting, or by emailing gratiotdems@gmail.com.
