A 20-year-old woman reported on Friday, Jan. 25, that an unknown person broke into her home in the 600 block of Hebron Street. The sleeping victim was awakened by the sound of the door opening, Chief Ramereiz said. The victim confronted the suspect, and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was described as 5-foot-11, medium build, wearing all black and a black ski mask. A 41-year-old Alma man reported being assaulted in the Marathon gas station parking lot on Wednesday, Jan. 23. This is under investigation.
Traffic Accident and Suspended License
A 33-year-old Alma woman was involved in a property damage accident at Euclid and M-46 on Friday, Jan. 25. The responding officer checked her background and learned she was driving on a suspended license and had an outstanding arrest warrant from another police agency. She was then arrested.
Snow Plow Accident
A City of Alma plow truck was backing up and hit a utility pole on Iowa Street near Falkirk in Alma on Monday, Jan. 28, damaging the utility pole. A mutual aid agreement is in place between the Alma and St. Louis. Any traffic crash involving a city vehicle is investigated by an outside agency. The agreement states that the St. Louis Police Department will investigate traffic crashes involving a City of Alma vehicle and the Alma Police Department will investigate traffic crashes involving a vehicle belonging to the City of St. Louis.
A 35-year-old St. Louis man reported receiving threatening messages from another subject via text messages.
