Cop Calls

Here are the highlights from the St. Louis Police Department’s complaint log from March 4 to 10. Thanks to Police Chief Richard J. Ramereiz Jr. for the following information.

Unattended death

An 80-year-old St. Louis resident was found dead at home during a welfare check on Monday, March 4, in the Evergreen Village mobile home park.

Broken window

The rear window of a vehicle was reported as damaged at noon on Wednesday, March 6.

Driving law violation

A complaint was filed at 7:21 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, of a vehicle using the left turn lane as a passing lane on South Main Street.  The vehicle has been identified.

St. Louis now has two sections of road that are three lanes with the center lane designated “Left Turn Only.” The sections are South Main from Tyrell to State, and M-46 from Devon to the west city limits. The center lanes of these sections of road are clearly posted along the shoulder in each direction as “Left turn Only.”

Mental health assist

A 17-year-old autistic resident wandered off on Wednesday, March 6, and was found walking along a road north of the city limits. The patient was unharmed and returned home.

Found dogs

Two dogs were found at large on Jackson Road near State Road on Wednesday, March 6.  The dogs were turned over to the Gratiot County Animal Shelter. 

Juvenile Runaway

Three juveniles were reported to have skipped school and did not return home on Thursday, March 7. The kids were located the next day and taken into custody.

Driving law violation

A traffic stop of two vehicles at 2 a.m. Saturday, March 9, resulted in the arrest of both drivers. A 30-year-old Saginaw resident was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A 24-year-old Saginaw man was arrested for having no license. In fact, he’s not even record as having applied for a license. Both were lodged at the Gratiot County Jail.

Larceny

A 38-year-old St. Louis resident reported the theft of his or her wallet from a downtown business. The complaint is under investigation.
