Here are the highlights from the St. Louis Police Department’s complaint log from May 21 to June 3. Thanks to Police Chief Richard J. Ramereiz Jr. for the following information.
Some $360 in cash was reported stolen from a residence on May 21. The victim named a friend who had recently visited as a possible suspect. The friend confessed.
A 26-year-old Portage man was arrested for drunk driving at M-46 and East on May 24 after being stopped for speeding.
A 42-year-old Louisiana resident was arrested for driving with a suspended license at M-46 and Hubbard on May 27 after being stopped for a traffic violation.
Fight broken up
Police responded to reports of a “large fight with numerous subjects” in the 200 block of S. East Street on May 25 that turned out to be a fight between two individuals who knew each other, according to Chief Ramereiz. The complaint will be turned over to the prosecutor for criminal charges.
Responding to a report of a breaking and entering in progress at an apartment building at 512 South Main at 10:44 p.m. May 29, officers found the incident was more properly designated as an assault & battery and malicious destruction of property “between individuals who knew each other.”
A 57-year-old St. Louis resident rear ended a vehicle driven by a 59-year-old Alma resident who was waiting to turn at the intersection of M-46 and Main Street at 10:21 a.m. Friday, May 31.
A 53-year-old St. Louis resident was arrested on Friday, May 31, on a Gratiot County Sheriff’s Department warrant for trespassing.
Failure to Appear
A 35-year-old St. Louis resident was arrested on Monday, June 3, on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court.
A 31-year-old Alma resident was arrested on Monday, June 3, on a child neglect warrant out of Gratiot County Friend of the Court.
Hit and Run
An unoccupied vehicle parked on Center Street between North Mill and Pine was struck and damaged at an unknown time. But the incident was reported at 5:40 p.m. Monday, June 3. It is unknown who or what struck the vehicle.
