Fire department funds hose purchase with Gratiot Community Foundation grant

The Gratiot County Community Foundation awarded

Saint Louis Area Fire Department $8,524 through its Patrick Kenneth Luneack Memorial Fund and Clyde & Maude Mizer Memorial Fund to buy fire hose and a Blitz Fire Ground Monitor.

The hose comes from Bull Dog Hose Company of Angier, N.C. and has increased flow rates and reduced kinking while operating in tight areas. The hose is color coded so each line corresponds to truck operator controls. It replaces hose that’s up to 30 years old.

“The St. Louis Area Fire Department is dedicated to

maintaining and improving the equipment needed on a regular basis such as this fire attack hose, said Jasper Township Supervisor Carmen Bajena in a press release. “The firefighters that serve our community deserve the guarantee that when needed their equipment is available, and in the best possible condition in order to save lives and property.”
