Josie Schrot’s shots rained on Merrill Monday as the Sharks put a beatdown on the Vandals 58-16.
Schrot hit on seven triple tries, including one each on the Sharks’ first three possessions, and finished with 24 points.
St. Louis’ record improves to 6-3 while Merrill falls to 2-7.

The start of the game was delayed a few minutes on account of a crushed Skittle on the floor. Athletic Director Bryan Anderson remarked that Schrot’s first three triples were from that very spot.
The Merrill girls were outclassed all the way and didn’t score their first point until the second half when St. Louis was up 32-2.
Other key St. Louis contributors were Natalee Hoyt (8 points, 9 rebounds) and Jaszmin Harbor (8 points, 5 rebounds).
Ena Borton was Merrill’s high scorer with 5 points.
Looking ahead
The lady Sharks (6-3) take on Standish-Sterling (8-1) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the Shark tank.
