The 2020 census set the population of St. Louis at 3,805 free people and 3,648 inmates in the prison.

Heavy Load

St. Louis police officers typically carry 30-40 pounds of gear when they are on duty. State police troopers carry 41 pounds of gear.

Infrastructure

There are 24 miles of road in St. Louis and 22 miles of sanitary sewer pipe.

How much are they paid?

The mayor is paid $1,120 per year plus $35 per council meeting. City Council members are paid $700 per year and $35 per meeting.

Board of Review members are paid $50 per session.

Members of all other city boards and commissions serve for free.

Politics

St. Louis has 2,534 registered voters.

1,477 voted in 2016 (59 percent turnout)

782 voted for President Trump

574 voted for Hillary Clinton
